Gen 49:24
Several passages in the Old Testament refer to God as a rock. This fitting metaphor calls to mind several attributes: He is firm and unmoving; he is unchanging; he is strong; when all else is uncertain, he remains steady and sure; and lastly, he is our defense, for in him we find refuge and safety. Give praise to the Rock of our salvation, for he shelters us from foes and calamities. Cling to him, for he will not be moved.

Prayer and Praise
MIGHTY GOD, you are our rock, our fortress, our deliverer. We place our hope in you, for you can be trusted to withstand any foe. We proclaim your great name to all peoples, for you alone are worthy to be praised. Amen
